Christoph Schumann Decorative Plate
Here is a wonderfully decorated lattice display plate, approx. 8" in diameter.Two mounting holes were molded into the rear base rim to allow hanging. Produced by the Christoph Schumann factory in Arzberg, Bavaria it was fired no earlier than 1900 and not later than 1918, this circa 100 year old antique is a fine example of the craftsmanship and porcelain skills of Schumann artisans. The aristocratic country couples scene is reminiscent of the post Victorian era and takes us back to a time when life was carefree and gay. Some of the gold rim is slightly worn but the piece remains in excellent condition. It would be a fine addition to any mantle or corner cupboard display as well as a fine investment opportunity as the factory has been closed since 1994. Own a piece of history, items such as this are becoming more rare every year and porcelain heirlooms maintain their beauty from generation to generation.
