Mitterteich
Charming Gold-Rimmed Mitterteich Dish

A very nicely decorated 6" by 7" gold rimmed Mitterteich dish. There is a barely noticeable "rub" on the bottom foot rim edge, possibly from the original molding, there are no other anomalies noted. The twin birds with flowers and leaves are quite lovely and show beautiful color. This particular mark was used since 1920 and this item likely dates prior to WWII. As the facility is now defunct, Mitterteich antiques can be only expected to increase in value and demand.
Mitterteich Decorative Plates

Two dainty 5.25" diameter decorative plates manufactured by Porzellanfabrik Mitterteich, Bavaria. These two small individually beautifully scened plates were manufactured by Mitterteich for Veritable Porcelaine, Limoges, France, an indication that they were viewed as high quality export items. I am unable to positively date them but suspect they are not newer than 1950. After a long, 137 year history of operations, in 2005 the firm announced it would file bankruptcy and finally closed production facilities in 2006. As there will never be any more porcelain produced there, now is a good time to add to your investment collection.
